The future looks clear with VR Lens Lab
I started trying out Virtual Reality goggles of various sorts a few months ago. And I got frustrated. Why? Because I wear glasses and using glasses with VR headsets is really not very practical. And I know many people like myself who are wearing glasses have the same problem – lack of comfort when wearing glasses under the goggles. It is a very uncomfortable experience notwithstanding the deep lines in my face after using goggles forced over my glasses. And then I found VR Lens Lab.
So when I came across VR Lens Lab, I immediately started doing some research about them to find out more about what they offer and their solution to my little dilemma. VR Lens Lab have recognised the problem and created ‘easy to use prescription lens inserts for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive’. This is amazing news for me and people alike.
According to VR Lens Lab: “Get our easy to use prescription lens inserts for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive and get the most out of your VR headset. High quality lenses and coatings optimised for use in VR headsets help you to experience VR in all its glory. Every prescription lens gets individually calculated so that the base curve of the lens works with your VR headset and doesn’t scratch it.”
What they offer prescription lenses from -6 to +6 that are specifically designed for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift goggles. And VR Lens Lab has a service for tailor-made lenses, for people who need extras like prisms. Ordering those is as easy as filling the form on their page.
VR Lens Lab has been funded through Kickstarter, which just shows that there is a genuine interest in prescription lenses for people who wear glasses. This innovative company is based in Stuttgart, Germany and already started shipping to backers from their Kickstarter campaign.
So what if I don’t wear glasses?
Good question! My husband asked that one too. As it happens everyone should protect their HTC Vive and Oculus Rift lenses from dust and scratches. VR Lens Lab is also producing regular lenses without any prescription, purely for the lens protection. Result? Husband sold!
You can order your pair now on their website: VRLensLab. Prices start at €68,00 for the adaptor and prescription lenses for both goggles. Prices start at €39,00 for non-prescription items.
